After reading How not to die, by Dr. Gregor, my brain was about to explode. So much information packed in just 500+ pages. So I highlighted, created an outline and just tried to absorb as much as I could. At the end of the book, he introduces his Daily Dozen app. Such an EASY way to follow a plant-based lifestyle. ( & it’s free )
Pretty easy to check off the food groups & meal plan ahead of time to make sure you are hitting your daily dozen. The coolest part of the app is you can press the category and see the exact portions for each food group. The last section of the list includes – flax seeds, water, vitamin D & B12. Which are both essential vitamins we need to replenish!
You just click off the squares as you go along your day. Even when I do my grocery shopping, right before I check out. I take a glimpse at the app and make sure I’m replenishing my kitchen with a couple of foods from each category.
So when someone asks you the stupid question ‘ so what do you eat ?’. You can reply ‘ well, since you have shown some interest in my nutrition (more than your own), my diet consists of many food groups, including; beans, berries, fruits, cruciferous vegetables, green, nuts, seeds, whole grains and dab of flaxseeds.’ (with or without the sassiness )
